As polytheist, I reject the Christian trinity
From the Christian tradition alone, we have the Creator, the Arbitrator, the Punisher, the Teacher, the Saviour, the Philosopher, the Sage, the Spirit, the Rebel, the Lightbringer, the Beast, the Adversary and the Forgiver.
All of these lwa or deities have positive and negative aspects.
From other traditions we can add the Confuser, the Splinterer, the Ascet, the Firestealer (unless you hold that Prometheus is Lucifer, in which case this deity is already represented), the Trickster, the Fool, the Nurturer, the Warrior, the Pacifist, the Anarchist, the Masterless, the Goat with a Thousand Young...
The Christian tradition is not more »correct« than zen buddhism, vodun, or discordianism.
As postmodern, I believe there's value in the old stories
While her name might be Eris today and Coyote tomorrow, she's not a nameless icon. She's the icon with a thousand names. The same goes for Jesus, Darth Vader, Lucifer, Batman, Kali, the King in Yellow and all the others. The names are part of the power. Don't abstract that away.
As an anarchist, I reject authority
There's no Watchtower, no Mecca, no Holy See. There can be no gatekeepers between humanity and divinity. Do unto others the things that will work out best for all parts involved. Banish sageliness. Talk to each other. Work things out. Reject. Question. When in doubt, be kind.
